Dietary iron errors

The World Health Organization survey, about adult women have three girls, 50%, 40% occurs in pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia. First is the physiological characteristics of women determines the women prone to anemia. Strong growth and development of adolescent girls, body\'s demand for iron, coupled with the instance of discharging the menses, prone to iron deficiency anemia. Pregnant lactating female fetal babies to supply nutrients, iron needs to greatly improve if additional supplementary, anemia is almost inevitable. Middle-aged female intrauterine loop effects, uterine myoma, menstruation, and loss of iron has become inevitable. Gastrointestinal absorption of older women, and wears hematopoiesis, anemia is also increased. However, in addition to their physiological characteristics, women have some misconceptions and behaviors in diet, also contributed significant cause of iron deficiency anemia.

Error: meat damage the health of some female advertising misleading, focused only on the health effects of plant food, resulting in animal foods rich in iron intake is too small. In fact, animal foods contain not only iron-rich, the absorption rate is high at 25%. And iron in plant foods contain phytate and oxalic acid in foods of salt, such as interference, the absorption rate is very low, about 3%. Therefore, avoid meat may cause iron deficiency anemia.

Myth two: eat enough eggs milk nutrition milk with a low iron content, and the absorption rate is only 10%. Certain proteins in the egg will inhibit iron absorption. For example, infants fed with milk, if you neglect to add supplementary food, often caused by iron deficiency anemia, that \"milk anemia\". Therefore, milk eggs are nutritious, but to rely on them to replenish iron is undesirable.

Myth three: useless iron many people don\'t know fruits and vegetables to eat more vegetables and fruits to iron supplementation is also good. This is because foods rich in vitamin c in vegetables and fruits, citric acid and Malic acid, the formation of complex organic acid and iron, so as to increase the solubility of iron in the gastrointestinal tract of, in favour of iron absorption.

Myth four: for women to drink coffee and tea, excessive drinking of coffee and tea may cause iron deficiency anemia. This is because of tannic acid in tea polyphenols and coffee can be difficult to dissolve the salts and iron formation, inhibiting iron absorption. Therefore, women should stop drinking coffee and tea, 1~2 cups a day enough.

Of course, in addition to nutritional factors, iron deficiency anemia may also be caused by the disease. Such as hemorrhoids, cancer, gastrointestinal ulcers, long-term use of aspirin, etc. Therefore, anemia occurs, should promptly to the hospital, in a clear diagnosis, proper treatment.
