Why the sudden syncope in infants

Syncope because of extensive cerebral insufficiency, resulting in brief loss of consciousness due to the high degree of inhibition in the cerebral cortex. Common in older children. In children with systemic discomfort before attack, depending on the blur, pale, sweating, then dizzy, physically bend, sudden loss of consciousness. Common types of syncope are:


1. syncope reflex. The most common, accounting for about 90% of various types of syncope. Syncope can be divided into simple postural hypotension. Of isolated syncope often has obvious incentives, such as emotional stress, fear, sultry, standing too long;, injection, or puncture caused by tooth. Orthostatic hypotension occurs by Crouching or squatting when suddenly stood up, or when standing for too long. Certain drugs such as chlorpromazine, levodopa may cause orthostatic hypotension.


2. cardiogenic syncope. Such as severe arrhythmia, sick sinus syndrome, cyanotic congenital heart disease, primary pulmonary hypertension.


3. of cerebral syncope. Transient cerebral insufficiency, aortic arch syndrome, subarachnoid hemorrhage, chronic lead poisoning encephalopathy.


4. syncope of medulla oblongata. Brainstem vascular diseases, tumors, degenerative diseases of central nervous system, patients with high spinal cord grey matter; certain medications such as tranquilizers, sedatives on the vasomotor center has a direct inhibitory effect.
